A friend of mine is struggling to overcome a bad childhood, and issues she does not understand. She is naturally a passionate, emotional person- and when you add unresolved issues to the mix, she can be explosive. It is beginning to come between her marriage. She fears that her husband is miserable, but she also feels powerless to change.

I think that she is a lovely person whom doesn’t need to “change” but certainly could use help sorting it all out- we all do at some point in our life.

I am hoping to find a Christian book, for women, that will help her. A devotional, something for a married woman (or not), just something that would speak to her soul and help her release whatever is going on inside of her. But, what book?

This is making me go brain sick! Please someone explain to me why Mark 9:46 isn’t there. Am I right? Is it not there? Or have my eyes deceived me? I have the New International Version Bible “NIV” King James Version “KJV” The Everyday Life Bible “Joyce Meyer Version” Woman’s Devotional Bible Pt. 1 & 2 and I have the Men’s Devotional Bible!!! And still I cannot seem to find it! I have the tanakh which is the main Bible I use to study except the tanakh “Torah” only is the books of Moses which is the first five books of course so it doesn’t have Mark. I’ve been meaning to get the complete Jewish Bible which is probably A very good idea right about now…but for the time being if anyone has any information on this please help me out! Thanks in advance!

-Amber
Just goes to show how much more accurate the Torah is appose to all those other Bible versions…I say Torah is the light!!!

Putting aside, for the moment, the objections Protestants and others have to the status of Mary in the Catholic church and the place she has in our devotional lives (including the rosary and prayers, statues, all of that — the points we all know are in contention):

Does the Mary of the Bible have any significance at all to you? Is she a worthy example to follow (“let it be done to me according to your word”, “do whatever he tells you”)? Or does she make an appearance at Christmas in the music and Nativity scenes and that’s pretty much it — a necessity for the Incarnation but hustled off the stage soon thereafter? How do you really feel about this blessed woman who brought Christ into the world?

I’d honestly like to get beyond the reactions to what Catholicism has made of her and discover the place (if any) the woman who bore the incarnate Word and was present at both Calvary and Pentecost has in the personal beliefs of non-Catholic Christians, and those of other faiths.

OK i have a Women’s devotional bible, And i was reading a scripture about a young lady who was talking to God. So after i read it I decided to talk to him also, I ask him all kinds of questions! This was really one of the best conversations i have had in my whole life!

Me : Jesus when are you coming back?

Soon very soon

Me: Jesus how come you let people not believe in you?

Cause i have chosen not to force anyone, They have free will people can decide for themselves.

Me: Jesus can i ask you another question?

Yes Mahsiah, (that’s my name pronounced messiah) :]

How come bad things happen to good people but good things happen to bad people

You just will and cannot understand my choices you will not understand.

Thats just half of our precious conversation, One that i will never forget!
Oh and my tooth was hurting cause i had a root canal earlier that day,
and i said God can you make my tooth stop hurting & it stopped
i almost fainted of the happiness that he did, no coincidence!
JESUS IS REAL, AND HE IS THE LIGHT!

I make mistakes…but the one thing that makes me know everything will be ok is God’s love. Knowing that he will always forgive me makes me feel like I can just repent, and that I don’t have to be afraid…I always try to ask him to make me a stronger person and to help me make better decisions. I just ahve a really strong desire to have a great relationship with god. I know that I have to find my own way to him, but what can I do?? I pray daily, I’m very thankful…I know that I need to read the bible more, but it is intimidating b/c I fee like I don’t know where to begin. The good thing though is that I have a Women’s Devotional Bible, so it makes everything easy to understand in modern english. I also need to get into a church…I feel intimidated by that too sometimes. I have come to realize though that I don’t have to go every Sunday…I could go whenever I can or even through the week…so long as I can fulfill my need to worship with others when I can. I want to make God my #1 priority. I don’t ever want to lose this feeling. What can I do??
I def don’t judge people…but you know I have noticed kids doing it as I was growing up–the judged me a lot, and said some realy mean things to me. and the sad thing about it is that it was mostly African American kids. I am black also…it was because my hair wasn’t permed slick staright or weaved, or I liked rock music or whatever the case may be… I’ve seen old people do it, black white…and I don’t agree with it. The fact that you are atheist, I don’t judge you at all. God loves you irregardless. But I cannot take it when people talk about others because I don’t know of anyone who is sinless or flawless…

Our marriage hit the rocks due to her & I being unequally yolked ( religiously) she believed in Christ, but she didn’t show it with me. She was diagnosed with an illness (Major Depressive Disorder) and she would hit me, say the meanest things and then tell me to leave. I recently found the proof of her having an affair after at least a month of Suspiscion….She wrote in her own diary that I hit her and cheated on her & I can’t figure out why would anyone lie to themselves through a devotional. She is not on her meds anymore and I don’t know how long she has not been taking the Zoloft. I know I can’t contribute her infidelity, forging and hot check writing all to the disease, but I fear that the lover she moved in doesn’t TRULY have a clue what he is in, & I also fear his violent temper/ understanding may spark him to wail on her.
I shouldn’t care anymore, but I share a child with this woman and I wish I could know how much of all this Drama is due to her illness.
